My brothers and
sisters in Christ,
Nearly 2000 years ago,
Peter, our brother in Christ, admonished us:
"But you are a
chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to
God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of
darkness into his wonderful light." 1 Peter 2:9 NIV
And further, our
brother Paul wrote:
"For he chose us in
him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his
sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted, as his sons
through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will...I keep
asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may
give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him
better." Ephesians 1:4-5,17 NIV
Following the
Pentecost, we became brother and sisters; adopted by God, set apart from
the world and sealed together by the Spirit . At that time, we
weren't Lutheran or Baptist, Methodist or Catholic, Presbyterian or
Pentecostal. We were simply known as "the Way" (Acts 9:2). I
have been told that the early chapters of the book of Acts is
descriptive, rather than prescriptive; that the book of Acts describes
the early church instead of Jesus' desire for us as we await his return.
The Bible tells us
differently. We are set apart for God and we are sealed together
as adopted children, the Body of Christ, a family.
This site is
dedicated to encouraging unity in Christ, promoting spiritual growth to
maturity, and, most of all, the sharing of knowledge, insight and
experiences "so that you may know him better".
I have no idea how God
will use this site and those of you that visit and contribute, but I am
overjoyed at the prospect of serving God, whatever His will.
Your brother in
Christ,
Aaron |
